5 Reasons Why You Should Never Give up on Your Dreams
Updated: Dec 21, 2019
Everybody has a dream. According to google, a dream means a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal. For me it means a burning desire in your heart to achieve something that you're very passionate about.
When we are kids, we are very open and welcome our dreams with much joy and excitement. But, growing up we start to suppress these desires and take on negative thinking patterns about what we can achieve in life. Often, we take on self-limiting beliefs from people around us, specially from our close family members: “These things don't happen to people like us”, “There is too much competition”, “I'm wasting my time”, “Stop being such a dreamer”. These are all self-limiting beliefs that people have injected into us from the time we were born till this day.
Well, I'm here to tell you that these are all lies and that you can break free from it! These things CAN happen to people like us, we live in a very abundant world where there is enough for everyone. Time is an illusion, we have all the time we want. And don't you ever stop being a dreamer, because that's who you really are.
Below I have listed 5 reasons why we should never give up on our dreams.
1. It's Your Life Mission
Your higher self is always trying to tell you things. It communicates to you through physical and emotional sensations that can lead to depression, happiness, inner-peace etc. One of these sensations is the burning desire in your heart to achieve what you came here to achieve. If you feel this sensation when you do something that you're really passionate about and it makes you happy, then that's what you're supposed to be doing. It's part of your life mission here on earth. See, you chose to be here and you were chosen to be here. Everything happens for a reason and therefore there is a purpose in you being born on earth in this lifetime. Listen to your heart and be open to the multitude of opportunities around you.
2. You're Not a Follower, You're a Leader
Are you one of those people that is always questioning everything? Do you like challenging the status quo? Are you curious about why people do what they do and why you should do what everybody else is doing? GOOD! You should. We are here to question everything. Life is a learning experience and we are all students. It really doesn't matter if you're homeless or considered the next Bill Gates, we are all equal, and we are all learning.
Leaders are the way showers, the trailblazers, the pioneers, the frontrunners. Leaders always suffer great hostility from others who want them to conform to the norm. They also receive a lot of criticism and hate from people who deep inside wished they would have the courage to go after their own dreams.
On the other hand, leaders have the ability to achieve great success and create significant changes wherever they go, if they don't let negativity stop them from achieving their dreams. Leaders are inspiring and very needed in this planet.
3. Where There Is a Will, There Is a Way
You are a creative being and therefore you create your own reality. Jesus told us that: " For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened." [Luke 11:10] (link 1). Accordingly, if you go after your dreams with determination and perseverance, then your dreams will become a reality. The key here is to believe, because, whatever you believe in is going to become your reality. Realize that you are the creator of your own reality. Therefore, don't give your power away to others and let them tell you what you can or cannot do. Take your power back, release your fears, worries and doubts, do your part and let the universe take care of the rest.
4. You're the Only One That Can Do It Like You
There is no one else in the whole galaxy that is exactly like you. You're a unique being and there is nobody else that can sing that song like you, walk that catwalk like you, nor cook that delicious meal like you. There is absolutely no one else on earth that has been through the exactly same life experiences as you have, in the same time and space as you have. As Pauli Exclusion explained, two identical things cannot occupy the same space (link 2). So, you have this unique viewpoint and a set of unique skills that only you can bring into the world. You're the only person that can do it like you. Don't waste your talents. Shine your light into the world.
5. You have all the time in the universe
You already know you're a unique being, but did you know you're a spiritual being? That's right! You are a bright spark, you are love and you are immortal! YES! You heard it right. You will never die! So, that is one fear you can cast out of your life right now. Death is just a transition to the next level of existence, and the fear of not having enough time is just one of many limiting beliefs we take on during our lives. The scientific community is starting to prove that we have souls (link 3), but I say we ARE souls. And as souls, we are not bound to our physical bodies . Your age here on earth is irrelevant. We are infinite beings, meaning, we are limitless and endless, impossible to measure or calculate. Overcome the “lack mentality” and break free from self-limiting beliefs.
Unfortunately, in Western Societies, youth is what people desire and worship, and is an ideal for many occupations. Marketeers definitely explore this aspect in advertisements and plastic surgeons make a lot of money out of this. But, I'm a positive person and I choose to see the world from another perspective. Look around you, the world is changing for the better and you are part of this change. Our beliefs create our reality, and I believe we are never too young nor too old to do what we love. Love conquers all.
